Title: Leading American Zionist Organization Denounces Israeli Policy on Temple Mount
---------------------------------------------------

The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) has issued an unprecedented press release condemning the Israeli government for perceived discrimination against Jews on the Temple Mount. The rare display of public dissent was prompted by recent clampdowns by Israeli police on visits by Jews, as well as the draconian measures police employ to "guard the calm."

"The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) believes that unfettered access and freedom to pray at a holy site is a basic, universally recognized right, which certainly should be accorded to Jews in the Jewish State of Israel," the statement began. "More Jews have wanted to visit the Temple Mount in recent years . . . To their dismay, when they do visit they are subject to blatant discrimination and humiliation by the Israeli police, who are cooperating with and hoping to appease the extremist Muslim Wakf authority on the Mount."

The press release cited the fact that Jews "have to endure . . . humiliation as they are followed and filmed by Israeli police and representatives of the Wakf . . . prohibitions against visiting the Mount more than once a day . . . " and "arrests for 'crimes,' such as - praying, even silently if one’s lips are moving . . . studying Torah . . . [and] closing one’s eyes." It also provided recent examples, like the arrest of a 67-year-old man who was quietly reciting a blessing before taking a sip of water, as required by Jewish law.

The statement goes on to criticize the disparate treatment Muslims receive: "Remarkably, if your appearance or behavior openly shows you are a Muslim you are treated with respect, and there is no disruption whatsoever for pursuing your religious activities as you wish to practice." The disparity is all the more disturbing in light of the fact that "not one act of desecration or disrespect for Muslim holy places has been committed by Jews on the Temple Mount. No Jews ever have terrorized Muslims there or engaged in rioting." On the other hand, "the worst acts of Temple Mount violence and desecrations have been perpetrated by Muslims, such as raining rocks on Jewish worshippers below at the Western Wall."

The statement ends by calling on the Israeli government to "end the discriminatory policy that is applied on the Temple Mount," and urges other prominent American Jewish organizations to join in their campaign.

Give 'em Heck, Prof. Dershowitz

Title: Give 'Em Heck, Prof. Dershowitz!

---------------------------------------------------
Form the Jewish Press

In early February, Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz addressed a full house at the Zellerbach Theater at the Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts at Penn State, to add his contribution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict debate brewing on campus. The event was presented by the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, Hillel of Greater Philadelphia and Penn Hillel.

Dershowitz was invited to speak in anticipation of the National Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions conference, which was planned for that weekend on Penn’s campus. According to the conference’s website, BDS’ goal is to “boycott, divest from and sanction (BDS) the State of Israel until it complies with its obligations under international and human rights law.”

According to the Daily Pennsylvanian, Dershowitz made "the 80-percent case for Israel." He advocated supporting Israel's right to exist but expressed willingness to criticize Israeli policies with which he disagreed.

Dershowitz called the implication that Israel is a apartheid regime "absurd." He challenged Israel's critics to name another country that, faced with comparable threats, had a better human rights record. He said that Israel was the only liberal democracy and nation that recognizes women's rights and the rights of the gay community in the Middle East. And at one point, he even said that Penn professors who support BDS werre "complacent with evil."

They didn't like that. This week, one Stephen Lendman went after Dershowitz with a vengeance: "Inviting him was disgraceful. He’s a shameless bigot, a longstanding Islamophobe, a perverter of fundamental U.S. and international law, an advocate of war, torture targeted assassinations and collective punishment, as well as a committed Zionist and apologist for Israel’s worst crimes."

Lendman even cited Law Professor Francis Boyle, who wrote that Dershowitz is "a self-incriminated war criminal who publicly admitted that he serves on a Mossad Committee that authorizes the murder and assassination of Palestinians," and is "also infamous around the world for being this country’s foremost advocate for torture."

Then Lendman added this pearl: "Throughout its century-long history, ADL hyped unfounded anti-Semitism hysteria as a cover for backing Jewish supremacy and rights of Israelis over Arabs. They include militarized occupation and belligerently enforced apartheid."

We apologize for the unfounded anti-Semitism hysteria of the past 100 years, and will now return quietly to our gas chambers.

Iran To Launch Suicide Boats at US Navy - JPress

Title: Iran to Launch Suicide Boats at US Navy as Turmoil Threatens Bahrain Base

From The Jewish Press
---------------------------------------------------
According to ABC News, Vice Admiral Mark Fox, commander of United States naval forces in the Gulf, told reporters in Bahrain that Iran is operating small boats "outfitted with a large warhead that could be used as a suicide explosive device."

Iran has threatened to disrupt shipping in the Gulf and to strike US forces there should sanctions cause the shutdown of its oil sales, or if the US attacks its nuclear sites.

At a briefing, Vice Admiral Fox said the US Navy's Fifth Fleet can prevent Iran from blocking the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran now operates 10 small submarines in the gulf, according to Fox. "They have increased the number of submarines... they increased the number of fast attack craft," he said, adding that "the Iranians have a large mine inventory."

"We have watched with interest their development of long-range rockets and short, medium and long-range ballistic missiles and of course ... the development of their nuclear program."

Military experts say the Fifth Fleet patrolling the Gulf, with at least one giant supercarrier accompanied by scores of jets and a fleet of frigates and destroyers, is overwhelmingly more powerful than Iran's navy.

But the very base of operations for the US Naval force may be in jeopardy. According to Stars and Stripes Magazine, Young Shia men, inspired by the Arab Spring uprisings across the Middle East, demand the resignation of the Sunni government of Bahrain, led by the ruling al-Khalifa family, as well as parliamentary elections and a new democratic constitution. The regime’s security services reply with force, determined to silence them. This month-long unrest is taking place a few hundred yards from the gates of the Naval Support Activity Bahrain, home to the U.S. Navy’s 5th Fleet, with some 6,200 sailors, civilians and family members.

In 1996, Al Qaeda suicide bombers in a small boat killed 17 sailors on board the destroyer USS Cole in a port in Yemen.

THE LONG AND THE SHORT - Meir Kahane

THE LONG AND THE SHORT

[This article written in 1978 like all other articles written by Rabbi Kahane is timeless. Rabbi Kahane always spoke of “democracy” changing in the blink of an eye. It all depends on the society and their problems.   “The Long And he Short” describes the “Wall Street Occupiers” and so many like them. For the frustrations and  unhappiness many feel in America today they blame  “big  business,” “Jews on Wall Street,”  “Jews in America,” one teacher occupier told Jews to leave the country and go to Israel.  Unfortunately, others agreed. Some do not even know they are against. They voted for Obama to make changes, without looking into the changes he will make. Now they want instant solutions. bg]
.
In the end, there is only the individual.  If the whole is nothing more than the sum of its parts, know that the geometric axiom serves for a Divine illumination of the realities of the world.  Ours is an era of instant solutions, the product of the loss of stability, anchor, certainty.  The truths and verities of centuries have melted away before what was universally believed would be the Springtime of Man.  The season changed and it was enough to wipe away the beliefs and values of a thousand and yet another thousand years but the warmth and paradise, the secular Nirvana and millennium, never appeared.  We asked for freedom; we demanded freedom; we climbed the barricades for freedom – and we received it, only to find, to our horror that we did not know what to do with it.  We cried for “rights” and they appeared – and the world became not one bit better than before.

The Liberalism that destroyed the Divine right of monarchy did not produce a better world and the democracy that brought universal suffrage did not create a kinder Man and the communism that railed against the evil of bourgeoisie-nationalism and democracy, did not bring Man happiness or peace.

All the fruits of progress and rationalism; all the harvests of science and humanism; all the things that promised to put an end to Man’s unhappiness and suffering and enslavement – all have failed and Man remains as unhappy and as enslaved as ever.

For by the very nature of desire to be “free” and to be “happy” Man guarantees the impossibility of a better world.  The obsession with self, the pandering to materialism and self-gratification, the glorifying of the “I” and the ego, must, by the very nature of the human beast, lead to further need and further demand for “more.”  Self-gratification is salt water that quenches the thirst of ego for but a moment and then produces the need-greater than before – for yet more water, for yet more gratification.  There is no end to it and the expectations can only rise, together with the increased inability to sacrifice and do without.  No man was ever more a slave than in our era when self-love and narcissism chain man to the demands of his body.

And so, a slave to his material and narcissistic needs; bewildered by the host of utopias that failed and the solutions that proved to be bitter delusions, lost and drifting, with no authority or ideological compass.  Man frantically and frequently seeks solutions – instant, immediate, now.  A child of the century of confusion and immaturity, unable and unwilling to postpone gratification or to slowly and carefully build the tower of truth, he demands his Nirvana now.

And so he seizes the short road that must inevitably prove to be long.  He climbs the barricades to change the “system.”  If it is capitalism, let us establish socialism and if it is communism let us build private enterprise.  If it is a monarchy let us have a republic and if it is a liberal, national bourgeoisie, we must have in its place a proletarian people’s government.  Foolish, frantic, frightened, lost souls.  Of course it cannot be.  Of course you cannot change a world by changing the “system” or the “society.” For there are not such concepts!  They do not exist!  Show me a system; let me touch it; let me feel it.  The whole is non-existent as an entity unto itself.  It comes into being only through the sum and substance of all the individuals that compose it.  If the individuals are selfish, grasping, stupid and pigs – that is the kind of society you will have, automatically, inexorably.

You seek a better world?  You want a better “society?”  Take the parts and make them good and you will have it.  Make man, each individual one, good and you will have your good world no matter what name you give the system.  That is the only way; there is no other.  It is the long way that is short; it is the only road that leads not to a dead end. You say it is impossible to create this?  Perhaps, though I would rather say, extraordinarily difficult.  But if it is impossible, cease your games and your illusions.  Neither the establishment, nor the rebels; neither the ‘outs’ nor the ‘ins’ neither the defenders of the status quo nor the revolutionary militants and activists, will change anything.

Of course seek to change things and make them better.  But beware of those who speak in terms of glory and love and revolution and throwing out the Establishment.  Look at them and study them.  Speak to them and search them.  Are they good people?  I mean, are they personally decent and fine and people of mercy and kindness?  Do they love the general people and hate each and every individual?  Do they love “Jews” the plural and speak with viciousness of each individual?  When they weep for the poor have you ever known them to reach into their pockets and give their tithe of charity.”  Does the purple mantle of love, cloak a hater?  Is there a need to hate rather than a drive for compassion?

Struggle against injustice and inequity and never accept them but beware the loud and strident “liberators.”  Too often, the ‘out’ climbs the barricades against the ‘in’ only because he seeks to exchange places with him and if he should ever succeed we would discover in him the same dreadful qualities of the one he ousted.  Only the good and the kind and the compassionate man can change things.  The other – the loser, the self-hate, the unstable and the one eaten by envy and the need to destroy is the kind to avoid, from whom you should flee.  No better world will emerge from him.  In the end, there is only Man, the individual.  If he is good, so will be his world.  If not, there is no hope.

Moshe Feiglin: The Redemption is not on Automatic Pilot

The process that is unfolding right now in Israel is wonderful and amazing. I am amazed at the achievements that we have had just like you are, but I am not closing my eyes to the dangers.
I want this process to continue, yet you cannot come and say that there is nothing to worry about.
What is it that they used to tell us?
"There is nothing to worry about, the process of redemption is on auto-pilot. We learned the writings of Rabbi Kook, and we know that everything will be alright. We’ll build settlements, go to yeshivot, and serve in elite combat units in the army. Our political, judicial, and academic leaders don’t understand what we are doing because they haven’t learned Rav Kook’s writings like we have. We know that the redemption is on auto-pilot, and the only direction is up."
We were stricken by the expulsion from Yamit, by the expulsion from Gush Katif, yet we did not understand.
We continued to say, "There is nothing to worry about, everything is in order, because we have 13 Nobel Prize winners." I’m really happy that we have 13 Nobel Prize winners, and I can mention even more amazing achievements.

But you cannot say, "Amazing things are happening here, and that is why there is nothing to worry about." There is something to worry about. I also believe, like you, that we are in the process of redemption, but if we don’t do our part, and leave everything up to G-d, we will absorb one blow after another. We are, in fact, absorbing these blows, constantly.

I would just like to remind everyone here:
Who built Gush Katif? The Labor party.
Who built Yitzhar? The Likud.
What is being built today in Judea and Samaria? The Arab city of Rawabi and the separation fence. And when you drive to Jerusalem, you must pass through an international crossing. If we succeed in building a house inside a settlement, even at this point in time, when the government has already lifted the settlement construction freeze, we think it’s an amazing achievement.
I agree with you that, in terms of the big picture, our current strategic reality is the reality of redemption. But on a tactical level, when looking at our daily lives, we are seeing that the state of Israel and its leaders are pushing us away from the Divine and miraculous redemption, and leading us into a state of retreat.

Today, in the settlements, we are fighting a war of survival, if you haven’t noticed.
A war of survival!
We hope that Netanyahu will stop trying to delay the Outpost Law [to legalize settlement outposts], just so that Migron will continue to exist. I have news for you. With Gush Katif, Peace Now did not petition the Supreme Court to have the settlements destroyed [unlike with Migron, which is being threatened because of a Peace Now petition].

There is a real problem. There is a conscious decision by the Israeli leadership to retreat, to dismantle these great achievements in all fields, not just with the settlements. I have focused on the settlements because that’s what is hurting us the most right now, but in reality this retreat is affecting all areas of life, including education and culture.
There is this big fan that they’ve put before us that is blowing away all of the amazing achievements that we’ve attained, and trying to scatter and break them all down. Now, we can try to run around and catch one of these things as the wind carries them away, and get an Outpost Law, or hold a protest that will stop another retreat. I’m not against these types of tactics. I also used them. I established "Zo Artzenu" ["This is Our Land," which held nationwide protests in the 1990’s] to try to stop the Oslo Accords, but someone at some point must take hold of this big fan and turn it in the opposite direction.

That is why I established Manhigut Yehudit:To put together a new agenda, to give the public some sort of goal, some kind of alternative to the current path that we are on. To come to the Jewish public in Israel with some sort of hope - a vision towards which we can work.
It’s not enough to sit in the cockpit of a plane, behind the controls, and constantly focus on evading the next anti-aircraft missile fired at it. The plane needs to have some sort of destination toward which to fly.

A Jubilee Year by Naomi Ragen on February 10th, 2012

“Believe it or not, despite having made aliya in 1972, I didn’t have a very clear picture of the terrible history of Britain and the Jews of Palestine.”
With the Queen of England celebrating her Jubilee Year, and this week’s worshipful MP visit to hate-preacher Abu Hamza in a high-security prison, I think the time has come for a few words about what is going on in Britain.
To be quite honest, I started life as an Anglophile.
My bedtime story was David Copperfield. As I suffered and ultimately triumphed with that poor, handsome orphan lad, I was infused with a sense of longing for the streets of London, waiting for the magic moment when my feet would wander where my imagination had long roamed.
My opportunity came many years later in 1981, after I had finished a master’s thesis on D.H. Lawrence. My dear friend and fellow classmate Shoshana and I hurried to take advantage of our husbands’ offer to babysit for a week, allowing us a much-needed break.
Before they came to their senses, we booked two tickets to London.
I’ll never forget that trip.
Everything from the pubs to the accents, to the little parks, and especially the theater, thrilled me with their unique charm. It was all so civilized, I thought.
People were so polite. The streets so clean. The plays were so well performed. It was dazzling.
Believe it or not, despite having made aliya in 1972, I didn’t have a very clear picture of the terrible history of Britain and the Jews of Palestine. The last book I read before leaving the US was While Six Million Died, which detailed the terrible history of America’s passive complicity in the destruction of European Jewry during the Holocaust.
But then came the intifada.
I couldn’t believe my ears as I listened to BBC broadcasters.
The bias and hatred toward Israel were so ugly and so blatant that even slow-boil Israeli government spokesmen were finally moved to protest, accusing the BBC’s Middle East correspondent Orla Guerin of anti-Semitism and “total identification with the goals and methods of the Palestinian terror groups.” After numerous Palestinian terror attacks on Israeli civilians, the BBC decided to air a documentary focusing on… the 1982 massacres in Sabra and Shatilla, dusting off the tired old complaints against Ariel Sharon. The following year I cringed as BBC reporters openly worried whether the PLO terrorists who had invaded the Church of the Nativity – defiling the sanctuary, beating up priests and worshipers and taking them hostage – were hungry, and if they had had a chance during the week to put down their machine guns to take a shower.
“You are not doing harm to the Jewish people. But you are doing harm to yourselves and to civilized norms that history shows will wind up destroying all that is precious to you as well,” I wrote in an open letter to the BBC.
Not long after, a British Jew decided to sing anti- Israel Christmas carols. She was someone I had the misfortune to meet when I attended the London Jewish Book Fair.
By that trip, the streets of London were decidedly less magical than I remembered, the streets dirty, and the people basically Third Worlders. The politeness and charm were gone, along with the thrill of being in a place of superior intellectual and moral appreciation.
It was a sad return.
British reality TV programs brought to Israel revealed the ongoing nature of this process. Tiny Tearaways showed dysfunctional families coping with out-of-control two-year-olds, while Brat Camp showcased these same two-year-olds reaching puberty, drinking, taking drugs and beating up their parents, who then bought them a one-way ticket to the Utah desert. Both programs revealed something that was obvious to all: No one was bringing up British children. In the no-father, single, non-coping parent environment that had replaced normal family life in Britain, the children were certainly no worse than their loutish parent( s). Recent British riots should have come as no surprise to anyone, least of all British authorities.
The sad and precipitous decline in British character and morals from their heights during the London Blitz seems to parallel the decline in British-Jewish relations. Anti-Semitic hate crimes, including physical attacks on Jews in London, are all too commonplace nowadays. The concomitant blindness of the average Brit to Muslim excesses within their own borders is frightening.
Take this week’s report from the Islington Tribune by Pavan Amara that “an alarming number of underage girls – some as young as nine – are being forced into marriage in Islington” according to the Iranian and Kurdish Women’s Rights Organization, and that “hundreds of Islington girls could be suffering sexual, emotional and physical scars as a result of the child marriages every year.”
The powerlessness of British authorities to control what goes on in their country, a result of the radical left-wing poison that has invaded and destroyed common sense in those fair British isles, was also glaringly apparent last year when our own Raed Salah, a Hamas hate preacher who had been banned by the British home secretary, strolled through Heathrow Airport in June, on his way to calmly deliver a lecture organized by Islamist radicals to a large crowd in Leicester and again at Westminster at the invitation of left-wing Labor MPs.
This week, on February 6, members of the Home Affairs Select Committee headed by Labor MP Keith Vaz went to high-security Belmarsh prison to interview Abu Hamza – the cleric who was jailed after telling his followers that the murder of non-Muslims was justified “even if there is no reason” – and then published an uncritical summary of Hamza’s comments.
Also this week, British authorities admitted their helplessness in keeping terrorist Abu Qatada in prison, announcing his imminent release. A Jordanian who had entered the United Kingdom on a forged passport in 1993, Qatada preached to British Muslims (including Mohammed Atta, the leader of the September 11 hijackers) to kill non-believers, and supported worldwide terror groups and bloody attacks in Jordan.
Because of their distorted laws, the British are about to let him go scot-free, despite recognizing the serious danger he poses to national security.
Is part of the British support for terror simply the inability of the ruling elite to get over its hatred of Jews and of Israel, pushing them into a senseless pattern of behavior that has no peaceful future? If so, perhaps it is time for the Queen to stop this downward spiral by putting her first visit to Israel on her Jubilee agenda.
This conciliatory gesture and recognition of the crimes committed against our people under the British Mandate – including murdering passengers and crew on the Exodus 1947 before sending survivors back to Germany, re-interring concentration camp victims attempting to start life anew in their homeland, and aiding and abetting the Arab terror aligned against the fledgling Jewish state – would be a good way to start the next 60 years, for Britain as well as for Israel.

Warning: Iran Targets Jewish and Israeli Establishments in US

News of an increased threat on Jewish and Israeli targets across North America comes at the same time as predictions of an imminent and detailed Israeli attack on Iranian nuclear facilities arise.

Jewish community and Israeli government institutions have been warned that they stand a chance of being targeted by Iran, according to an internal Israeli security document obtained by ABC News.

A letter circulated by the head of security for the consul General for the Mid-Atlantic States warned that both guarded sites, such as Israeli embassies and consulates, as well as “soft sites” like Jewish schools, community centers, and synagogues, were at an increased risk of attack by an increasingly hostile pre-nuclear Iran.

The head of the Shin Bet internal security service, told a restricted audience in Tel Aviv that Iran is planning attacks on Jewish and Israeli targets in retaliation for recent assassinations of Iranian nuclear scientists.

Law enforcement patrols in New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and Toronto have been stepped up in Jewish communities and at locations such as Jewish institutions and Israeli government locations. Bulletins warning community members and employees to remain aware and vigilant have gone up in several places.  Included in the warning is notification that forged Israeli passports might be used to pass through security checks.

The Israeli security bulletin comes in the face of tension between the US and Israel over a potentially imminent military strike against Iran.  Israeli officials have increasingly alluded to the possibility of conducting an attack on Iranian nuclear facilities to prevent the vocally anti-Israel government of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad from obtaining an atomic weapon.   This is despite US President Barack Obama’s warnings to Israel not to take unilateral action against Iran.

US officials have urged Israel to rely on US-backed economic sanctions to deter Iran from continuing its nuclear program, and have said Israel would face missile strikes on population centers following an attack on Iran.

On Friday Iranian religious leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei made a rare appearance before the people of Tehran and called Israel a "cancer" that must be cut out, warning the Jewish state not to attack Iran. He also threatened the U.S., saying its participation "would be ten times worse for the United States than for Iran," according to another report by ABC News.

Also on Friday, NBC news presented a report on what an Israeli strike on Iran might entail.

The report was based on interviews conducted with current and former Israeli and US officials, and suggested that an Israeli attack on Iran would be a combined air and ground assault.

According to the report, Israeli artillery and air force would lead the attack, using Jericho 2 missiles capable of reaching a distance of 2,500 kilometers, F-15i aircraft, and Israeli unmanned aerial vehicles.

Because a single attack would not likely destroy Iranian nuclear projects, but rather target the most sensitive locations, another strike would likely be conducted in the future.
