Jewish Prayer on the Temple Mount

Open the Temple Mount to Jewish Prayer Petition!

The Temple Mount is the holiest place in the world to the Jewish people; yet Jews are denied the right to pray in groups, and even as individuals; this refusal is accompanied by their constant degradation, and they are granted no opportunity for any religious expression whatsoever on the Temple Mount

Infamy - By Naomi Ragen

I was a new oleh when the PFLP and two Germans hijacked a plane
full of Israelis to Entebbe. I remember well those nail-biting
days, the moral dilemma of freeing dangerous terrorists for live
hostages; the idea that negotiations would just lead to more
hijackings. But what other choice did we have? After all, they
were in Uganda, so far away .

We found a way.

I will never forget the morning of July 4, 1976, waking up to the
news. Our soldiers had gone in, at great personal risk. They had
saved almost everyone, and killed the terrorists. We were not
helpless victims anymore, the Jews. No, we were clever, and
resourceful and courageous. We showed the world how to behave.
We led the way.

I wake up this morning of July 16, 2008 with quite another
feeling. Our soldiers, kidnapped on our own land, not across any
international border, are brought back to us in caskets after two
years of sadistic playfulness with the hearts of their families
by Hezbollah terrorists, who led us to believe they were alive.
And in exchange for dead bodies, we turn over a despicable
baby-killer, Sami Kuntar.

Oh, you will hear the boosters of the Israeli government sigh.
What can we do? We are civilized and they are not. We care
about our soldiers and their families.

No, I'm afraid you do not. If you cared, then you would have a
death penalty for people like Kuntar, so that they too can be
released in caskets. And if you cared, you would be intelligent
enough, seeing our soldiers brought back to us dead, to have put
a bullet through Kuntar and then turned him over to his friends.

Civilized is a euphemism for weak and helpless. Civilized is not
a moral value, because we all know what Western civilization is
capable of. Concentration camps. Civilian round-ups, the gassing
of children. All this under the banner of laws and policemen and
governments. On the other hand, the moral thing to do to a tried
and convicted murderer like Kuntar is to spill his blood, because
he has spilled the blood of others. That may not fit in with
current civilized niceties, but let no one say it is immoral.

When it comes to immoral, to release Kuntar to a hero's welcome
and the opportunity to murder others is on the top of the scale.

My government, the Israeli government, arranged this. They let
it happen. They oversaw it and implemented it.

I am deeply ashamed to be an Israeli today. And I'm not very
proud of being a Jew either, if this is how a Jewish country
behaves. To lead the world in ever more despicable acts of
appeasement is nothing to be proud of. The torch we always
carried, the "light unto the nations" has been blown out by the
hot-air of our politicians.

If we cared about our soldiers, we would not be showing our
enemies that kidnapping and terrorism pay. We would not be
setting the stage for the next murderous terrorist raid and
hostage standoff. We would be passing laws with a mandatory
death penalty for convicted terrorists with blood on their hands,
as well as their accomplices. We would be making these laws
retroactive. Then, we would be cutting off all water and
electricity to Gaza until Gilad Shalit is released. If that
didn't work, we'd begin executions within one week, increasing
the number convicted terrorists facing firing squads with each
passing day until Gilad is returned to us safe and sound. And if
that didn't work, we would begin daily bombings of Gaza, with the
same number and frequency of attacks that our own city Sderot has
suffered over the past three years from the Gazans. Not
civilized? Perhaps. But moral. Extremely moral.

My fantasy is that Israelis will rise up and overturn the
political system which has left them with the dregs of their
nation as leaders- a bunch of self-serving crooks and syncophants
who will do anything to stay in office; an electoral system in
which a party like Kadima, with its collection of felons and
moral imbeciles , who got only 23% of the vote, is allowed to
rule us into the ground. We have Mr. Olmert, and Ms. Livni, and
Mr. Peres, and Mr. Ramon (a convicted sex offender, who is now
in line to take over from Olmert) and many, many others to thank,
for creating this day of infamy.

May G-d redeem us from them.

What Do Israeli's Want?

I guess they want lower taxes and less expensive food and peace.

Do they want Israel to be a Jewish Country...

Israel is a Country, why do we call it a State...little matter of a Constitution

Who Should Be Prime Minister?

Netanyahu, Barak, Feiglin, Peres, Livni, Mofaz, Ramon, Liberman, Tovia Singer, Caroline Glick...Who?

Who will Expel the Arabs and annex Gaza, Judea and Samaria?
Who will declare independence from US aid?
Who will retake the Temple Mount?
Who will remove the Mosques...

Who?

I will vote for him with NI Shekels!

Will you?

Why wouldn't you?

Kol Beseder?

Kol Beseder?.... Kol Beseder?

Israel - Dead Bodies in exchange for the murderer Samir Kuntar!
This in itself is a crime perpetrated by Peres and Olmert.
Why is Israel so passive, why not use weapons when attacked?
Since our civilian populations are targeted, why is turnabout not fair play?
Because it is wrong and yet the rest of the world does not take that as evidence that Israel is clearly the victim that should have the right to defend herself.

Why does Israel try to be so ethical if it is not a Jewish State guided by Torah?
Apparently the secular state of Israel wants Israel to be another Western Country.
Either Israel is a Jewish State or a State of Jews...or not.
Olmert and his cronies don't understand that Israel will be dealt with
as a Torah based society even if they don't act like one.
Obviously they have a different agenda!

It is time to throw off the yoke of the US and replace the Knesset and PM.
Elect a new PM and change the Knesset appointment system to a democratic election. Cronyism may diminish...

Also only Jews may run for Knesset. No more non Jews in the Knesset or Government.
When the employers stop hiring non Jews, the non Jews will stop coming around.
It would eliminate the traffic at the checkpoints.

It is also time to begin a systematic plan to remove the Arabs and non Jews from Israel neighborhoods.

Also it is time to pressure the US to pressure Jordan to accept their people back!

Jewish Values Needed to Fight Terror

July 7, 2008...

It is sadly ironic that a bulldozer was used last week by an Israeli-Arab as the murder weapon to claim the lives of the three precious Jews in Jerusalem : Batsheva Unterman HY”D, Elizabeth Goren-Friedman HY”D and Jean Relevy HY”D. The irony stems from the fact that the Jewish people have been bulldozed by their own Israeli governments into accepting suicidal policies based on values that have nothing to do with their Jewish heritage.

Manhigut Yehudit's platform of "Jewish leadership based on Jewish values" stands in stark contrast to the platform of those that are leading us to disaster. Manhigut Yehudit calls for Jewish Labor inside Israel so that Jews will not have to live in mortal fear that cab drivers (the Israeli-Arab murderer who killed eight Yeshiva students earlier this year) and construction workers (the Israeli-Arab who bulldozed three Jews to death) can turn an ordinary day into a horrific one leading to funerals.

Under the Oslo co-conspirators' regimes, a Jew in Israel cannot eat in a restaurant, learn in a Yeshiva, go shopping, ride on a bus or drive in their car without knowing if they will be, G-d forbid, poisoned, blown up, shot, stabbed or bulldozed.

Jewish Leadership calls for zero tolerance for Arab uprising - both from Israeli-Arabs and from neighboring countries. Under current and previous governments Israel has given up its power of deterrence as it is clearly seen that there are no consequences for attacks. Not only does the government not punish the communities from where the terrorism emanates (except for razing an occasional building) but terrorism is rewarded with the promise of Jewish Land and the release of murderers. This sense that Israel must only respond with the most minimal of force and never go on the offensive to either pre-empt an attack or end one quickly pervades the entire Israeli establishment, which appears all too eager to offer up Jewish lives as “sacrifices for peace” on the altar of world opinion. Real Jewish leadership would take whatever steps necessary to safeguard Jewish lives.

Additionally, leadership based on Jewish values understands that Arabs can not feel loyal to Israel as a Jewish State. The Israeli government pretends that this problem does not exist, as it points out the facts that Israeli-Arabs have a higher standard of living than Arabs in any Arab country, and that Israeli-Arabs have more rights in Israel than they would have in any Arab country. The above statements are true, yet they are not a complete picture. Israeli-Arabs certainly enjoy these rights, yet how can anyone think that they will ever sing the Israeli national anthem, HaTikvah, whose lyrics discuss the yearning of the Jewish soul for the Land of Israel and Jerusalem . How can anyone think that Israeli-Arabs will ever feel like anything less than second-class citizens while Israel even nominally pretends to be a Jewish state?

The current and previous Israeli governments have allowed areas where “Israeli”-Arabs live throughout Israel to become unpoliced terrorist safe havens where anti-Israel resentment runs deep. The results of this policy have proven disastrous. Jews know all too well that a wrong turn while driving almost anywhere in Israel can spell the end of their lives. Is this any way to live?

Israeli-Arabs should be encouraged with significant financial incentives to make their homes and futures elsewhere. Instead of financing the fraudulent "peace process" at the cost of 1.5 billion dollars each year, Israel could easily underwrite this emigration in less than a decade.

Moshe Feiglin – chairman of the Manhigut Yehudit faction of the Likud party - sums up the entire problem and its solution when he states that: "The only answer to the lethal Arab nationalism is a return to our values."

Israel - Can you dig it?

Image you can touch the past. Feel the remnants of your ancestors, understand the utensils of their lives. Bring home a piece of history.

What would it mean to you? What could finding a piece of the Davidic Dynasty
mean to your beliefs? Would it make a connection between Torah and today?

It does for me!

Rabbi Meir David Kahane -

Rabbi Meir David Kahane - leader, philosopher, visionary, revolutionary, scholar, warrior, activist, fighter, hero, Rabbi, writer, speaker, Rosh Yeshiva, father, grandfather, husband, teacher, author and statesman.
Rabbi Meir Kahane was born Aug. 1, 1932 (29th of Tamuz) and assassinated Nov. 5, 1990 (18th of Heshvan 5750).

As a youth he was active in Betar. He met Jabotinsky, who was a guest at his parents home, and a close friend of his father, Rabbi Charles Kahane.

Rabbi Kahane resided with his wife Libby in Jerusalem, Israel. They lived there from the time that they immigrated to Israel from the U.S. with their four children in 1971.

All of his children have been active in preparing and publishing his books, writings and manuscripts along with his wife Libby. Before his youngest son Binyamin Zev Kahane was murdered with his wife Talya on December 31, 2000 (May G-d avenge their blood), he headed the yeshiva founded by his father and also served as the former director of the Kahane Chai Movement.

Rabbi Kahane received his smicha - ordination as Rabbi - from the world famous Mirrer Yeshiva in Brooklyn, NY.

He earned an International Law degree from New York University.

Rabbi Kahane served as a pulpit Rabbi and teacher in NY in the early and mid 1960's. During that time he also was one of the editors of the Jewish Press, which was the biggest English speaking Jewish newspaper in the world. He worked as a correspondent for the Jewish Press until his tragic death.

Rabbi Kahane was the author of many books on Judaism, Israel, Torah and politics. He wrote books in English and in Hebrew.

Rabbi Kahane was well known for his electrifying speeches in Israel, on U.S. campuses and in synagogues throughout the world. He was viewed as an eloquent, dynamic spokesman and orator, appearing frequently on radio and TV talk shows.

Rabbi Kahane founded the militant Jewish Defense League in 1968 to combat the rampant growth of anti-Semitism in the inner cities. At that time, the poor and elderly Jews were easy targets for Jew hating thugs. Rabbi Kahane rescued these abandoned Jews and changed the image of the weak and vulnerable Jew to one of a mighty fighter who strikes back fiercely against tyrants. Jew-haters around the world soon began to respect and fear the wrath and retribution of Kahane's Chaya Squad, a group within the JDL, which succeeded in instilling fear in the hearts of the would-be criminals against Jews.

The JDL went on to conquer other local issues and problems as well as global Jewish problems. The JDL was the first group to really bring world attention to the plight of Soviet Jewry. They did so by engaging in unconventional and often violent tactics which succeeded in highlighting the plight of millions of oppressed Jews, suffering behind the Iron Curtain. The JDL succeeded in moving the issue off of the back pages and on to the front pages, where it belonged. Kahane was the "Moses" for Russian Jewry. It wasn't long before the major Jewish establishment organizations were embarrassed and forced into action, after so many years of apathy and indifference.

Russian Jews started to flow out by the hundreds of thousands, thanks to Rabbi Kahane's dedication and vision. But as Rabbi Kahane said, "More than what we did for Russian Jewry was what they did for the young and lost American Jewish youth who finally had a Jewish cause to fight for, and boy did they fight, without sleep and at a risk to their freedom they did that which their parents never did for their Jewish brothers and sisters who perished during the Holocaust."

Rabbi Kahane coined the phrase "Never Again" which did not mean that a Holocaust could never happen. It meant that never again would Jews stand idly by while their brothers cry out for their help.

Rabbi Kahane was jailed many times and was sentenced to prison terms for his actions related to the campaign on behalf of Soviet Jews.

Other famous causes which Rabbi Kahane fought for included Jewish identity and continuity. Far before the Jewish establishment realized that there was a problem - Rabbi Kahane was demanding that Jewish funds go for Jewish causes, primarily for Jewish education. He spoke out against intermarriage and assimilation among Jewish youth. He saved thousands of lost Jewish souls from spiritual destruction.

Aliyah to Israel was another key campaign launched by Rabbi Kahane. In fact, he was assassinated lecturing at an emergency Z.E.E.R.O. conference calling for the mass Aliyah of American Jewry. He directly convinced hundreds of Jewish families to make Aliyah.

After Rabbi Kahane immigrated to Israel he formed the Kach movement. Kach was most famous for its platform calling for the removal of the hostile Arab population from Israel, the annexation of all of the territories liberated in 1967, and to have the right of unlimited Jewish settlement there. He believed that settling the land without removing the hostile Arab enemies would be counter productive. He predicted autonomy and retreat far before Likud ever signed the Camp David Accords and before the Oslo Declaration of Principles were dreamed up.

Rabbi Kahane was despised by many for quoting Jewish sources about Jews being a chosen nation and the exclusive owners of Eretz Israel. Many hated him for pointing out the contradiction between authentic Judaism and Western style democracy. "Judaism is not Thomas Jefferson and the Middle East is not the Mid West, Kahane would say." Kahane made "comfortable" Jews feel uncomfortable for forcing them to deal with the painful truth and painful answers to problems they refused to think about.

Rabbi Kahane was jailed and imprisoned many times in Israel by both Labor and Likud governments. Rabbi Kahane was the first Jew to be held under administrative detention without charges or due process. He was also the first Jew charged with sedition for his population exchange proposal.

Rabbi Kahane also pioneered the campaign to save Syrian and Ethiopian Jewry as well as the battle against cults and missionaries in the Holy Land. Rabbi Kahane dreamed of creating an independent Israel which would no longer fear the Gentiles. He dreamed of a state of Israel that would sanctify G-d's name through Jewish power and faith in G-d.

Rabbi Kahane was elected to Knesset in 1984. He headed the quickest growing party in Israel's history. Polls predicted him receiving as many as 12 seats in the 1988 elections. If he would not have been banned from participating in the elections he would have turned in to the third largest party in Israel, on the way to becoming its next Prime Minister. Likud and Labor joined together and banned Kahane from the 1988 elections.

Two years later, he was killed. Never in Israel's history was there a bigger funeral. Never before did so many different types of Jews stand side by side together. All of the enemies of Israel celebrated his death. Many of the leftists in Israel happily predicted the death of Rabbi Kahane's yeshiva and programs in editorials published in the Israeli press, shortly after his death. Much to their amazement and disappointment, Rabbi Kahane's yeshiva and programs lived on. Some have even grown and expanded despite the governments continued harassment and the outlawing of the Kahanist movements.

Palestine - Some Info Please....

Start at any point in history and describe the Country of Palestine:

When was it founded?
What were its borders?
What was its capital?
What were its major cities?
What constituted the basis of its economy?
What was its form of government?
Name at least one Palestinian leader before Arafat?
What was the language, currency, or religion of the country of Palestine?
What was Palestine proud of? Known for?

When did Palestine declare its independence?
There is no Palestine today. When was it destroyed?
Why have they not declared a Palestinian State in Gaza?
Why are the Arab populations of Gaza, Judea, and Samaria different skin colors?
Could it be because they come from different places....

Who are the assembled Refugees that claim to be Palestinians?

After the Partition that created Trans Jordan (Jordan) the so called Palestinian people had a State.
Why were the refugees never absorbed into Jordan?
Is it because the Arabs simply want to kill all of the Jews and continue their plan from the Mufti and WW2?

Peace in the Middle East starts and ends with Jordan taking their own people back.
President Bush should pull Condi out of Israel and send her to Jordan to negotiate the end of the War. The Arabs will have lost and perhaps can stop trying to kill
everyone and begin the task of helping their own population.

Will Obama or McCain do it? I doubt it.

Two Jews three opinions...

Jewish history -

has been repeated by countless Jews all over the Earth. The SAME story is said over and over, because it has been passed down through the generations. The story is about
600,00 souls at Sinai.

It is pretty much impossible for all of these different Jews from many Countries to make up the same story. If it were changed through history, we would not all know the same story.

Exodus, Sea Splitting, Manna, The Torah at Sinai, Israel's wars, Gaza's Fruit, the desert blooming, and just the existence of Israel herself are certainly incontrovertible miracles.

All experienced by Jews from many Countries.

Was Torah passed down word for word? No way to know. Faith would allow to me believe it. Was Torah passed down with any interpretations by our Sages with hands guided by HaShem....sure, I like that.

Hashem has proved he cares for and about us...now it is our turn to show him the same.

Collect the sparks and spend every day in awe that we exist and try to help all Jews and then we will go from there.

Meir Kahane:

"Never, ever deal with terrorists. Hunt them down and, more important, mercilessly punish those states and groups that fund, arm, support, or simply allow their territories to be used by the terrorists with impunity".

"One of the great problems with Americans is that - being a decent people - they assume that everyone else is equally decent".

"The banding together by the nations of the world against Israel is the guarantee that their time of destruction is near and the final redemption of the Jew at hand".

July 4th is Operation Entebbe

What does July 4th mean to you?
To me it is the anniversary of Operation Entebbe.

Where is Israel's Chutzpah now - Is it flying towards Iran yet?

Turning Plowshares into Swords

By Naomi Ragen

To live in Jerusalem is to face the fact that here, in the
holiest city in the world, there are vast numbers of inhabitants
who are the kind of human beings willing, able, and committed to
performing acts of sickening bloodshed, breaking every rule that
human beings have created for themselves or learned or been
taught. Worse, they involve G-d in their offenses, desecrating
His name and His city in their maniacal search for the ultimate
act of barbarism to promote their religion/politics/personal
agenda.

Take Mr. Duwait. A convicted rapist and felon who sat in jail
for two years, a resident of the East Jerusalem Arab village Sur
Baher, a relative of the terrorist who killed young yeshiva
students in Mercaz Harav, he climbed unto a huge tractor and
with astonishing barbarism plowed down a major Jerusalem
thoroughfare, sowing unimaginable destruction. As journalist
Tom Gross put it:

"Terrorists purposely target civilians, and this terrorist was no
different. He chose his victims carefully, starting his attack by
motioning with his hand for a woman motorist to drive before him.
Then he rammed her car with the bulldozer's shovel.

He then used the bulldozer to plow into two public buses carrying
passengers, including many women and children which he could
clearly see through the buses' large glass windows. One of the
buses was completely overturned, the other crashed. He then
crushed a number of cars with their drivers still in them, and
targeted several pedestrians chasing them down and running them
over. A half-dozen cars were flattened and others were overturned
by his Caterpillar vehicle as panic spread throughout the center
of Israel's capital. Traffic was halted, and hundreds of people
fled through the streets as medics treated the wounded.

One car was dragged several meters by the bulldozer. A baby was
pulled out by a passerby before the vehicle was crushed, with the
child's mother still inside. She died.

By the time his rampage was over, three Israeli civilians were
dead and over 66 were wounded. Broken glass and blood were left
down a stretch of one of Israel's busiest streets.

All the time the terrorist screamed "Allah Akhbar" (God is great
in Arabic) as he did so.

The terrorist was shot dead by a security guard working for a
nearby bank as he approached Jerusalem's main working class food
market, Mahane Yehuda." {And by a young soldier, the
brother-in-law of the soldier who took out the Mercaz Harav
terrorist. Imagine the woman with such a husband, and such a
brother!)

Bathsheva Unterman, the 33 year-old kindergarten teacher who
unstrapped her baby and handed her to a passerby through the car
window before being crushed, had been through many treatments
and waited many years for her daughter to be born. Her baby was
unharmed. Not so the baby in the overturned bus, who remains in
critical condition.

Duwait's family has not expressed sorrow for the victims. But
what they do want to know is why it was necessary to have killed
Duwait. That way, I suppose they'd be waiting for another Israel
soldier to be kidnapped and murdered to set their darling free.

What is the moral of this story? As Rabbi David Booth said: "It
was a case of someone turning a plowshare into a sword." The
killing here yesterday was no random act. It was deliberate and
personal. It was -and is- family against family. On one side,
there are their families, who raise their sons to be mass
murderers and child killers, instilling in them a hate-filled
culture and a religion with no respect for human life,
encouraging them to kill and be killed.

And then there is our family, who raise our sons to risk their
lives to save the lives of others, instilling in them a culture
and religion filled with the true love of G-d and mankind and
life. Our family will triumph over their family. Our sons over
their sons. And when they sit in their tents of mourning,
keening over their dead, perhaps they might reflect on how it is
they have raised sons who must be hunted down and killed like mad
dogs. Perhaps, if that happens, they will need to mourn no more.

Naomi is always right on and as a concerned citizen and Mother her view
is based both in Torah and in Israel.

Israel - Is it calling you?

I know it is calling me. But why, what makes long for a place I have never been?
What makes my children want to go to a place they have never been?
Two of my children are in Israel now!

What makes me so proud that they wanted to go, were willing to go and perhaps had to go? Is it a religious calling? Not consciously at least. I don't think that is the impetus. It is much more than that.

We have all grown up hearing about Israel and our heritage. Even if my immediate Mispacha is not from Israel, somewhere back a few years further....we are.

It is a place that celebrates the Jewish holidays not someone elses. A place that uses a Hebrew calender and language.

Israel remains the only place a Jew can feel safe from his own countries population.

I listen to Arutz Sheva, HaaRetz, Ynetnews and the JPost for the different perspectives of Jewish life and Government. It seems that there is a return to Religiosity and that the Jewish people want a new PM that will protect Ha Eretz Yisrael and defend the population.

It is time to think of going home. Home to a place you may never have been...but yet remains the biblical and spiritual home for every Jew.

We Are All Gilad Shalit

by Moshe Feiglin

Israel is paralyzed. Why?

When Gilad Shalit was abducted, the spin was that the kidnappers were part of a clandestine terror group; some sort of popular front over which Hamas had no control. But then Hamas realized that even if it takes full responsibility for abducting Shalit no harm will befall it. And so, without blinking an eye, the elected government that rules as a sovereign in Gaza embarked upon direct and open negotiations for the release of the abducted Israeli soldier. Ismail Haniyeh doesn't even masquerade as a mere mediator. He, the leader of Hamas, sets the price that will convince him, in his capacity as the prime minister of Gaza, to release the Israeli soldier.

In plain English, that is a declaration of war. But Israel is paralyzed. Why?

What would have happened if, during the Yom Kippur War, the Syrians would have stationed an artillery unit in the Syrian village of Kuneitra and shelled Tiberias from its heights? Would somebody have even thought it improper to retaliate because of the civilian casualties that would inevitably result? That would be ridiculous. If a sovereign government decides to go to war, it does so in the name of its entire nation. Everybody is included. There are no 'innocent civilians.' If the elected government goes so far as to use a civilian platform for its attack, the responsibility for the results is clearly on its shoulders and not on the side defending itself.

But in Israel's case, this logic does not hold. Hamas enjoys the best of both worlds. On one hand, it has territory, a democratically elected government, and international aid and recognition, while on the other hand, it bears no responsibility for its actions. It has the power of government and the responsibility of an impudent teen. It shells the Jews from inside its sovereign territory and the Jews restrict themselves to policing the attackers alone - as if they were a gang smuggling drugs from Mexico to Texas.

Can Israel win under these circumstances? Obviously not. That is precisely the cause of the insane situation in Israel today - unique to this country alone.

Israel cannot defeat Hamas because defeating the Arabs of Judea, Samaria and Gaza, or actually dealing with the rising nationalism of Israel's Arabs, would leave Israel alone with its Jewish identity. Victory means a return to the Biblical Land of Israel. It means reconnecting to our Biblical role models, encouraging Arabs to emigrate from our Biblical homeland, declaring sovereignty over our homeland and massive Jewish settlement. Israel's short history proves that anything less than that is not victory.

Actually, the only real victory that Israel ever enjoyed was the victory of the War of Independence in 1948. In that war, Israel actualized the four principles mentioned above: conquest, Arab emigration, sovereignty and settlement. That triumph triggered a true peace process. For a while, it looked like the process would end like most wars, in which one side defeats the other and in the end both sides shake hands.

But that did not happen. The Arabs eventually realized that the Jews did not establish an independent Jewish state, but a new Israeli state. This identity-less state desperately needed the Arabs to prove just how normal it really was: no Jewish identity; just a collection of Jews, Arabs and whoever else living together with no roots or religions to disturb it. The logical result is that the Arabs - who hold the key to the new Israeli identity - have an insurance policy against any Israeli aggression or retaliation. That is why Israel cannot deal with the missiles flying into its sovereign territory on a nearly daily basis. That is also why an 'Israeli' Arab MK can direct Katyusha missiles into Haifa and laugh all the way from his interrogation in Israel to the bank in Jordan with his hefty Israeli compensation.

What will we do? Will we continue to raise white flags all the way from Gaza to Tel Aviv? After all, the Israeli mentality can no longer integrate a solution based on the principles of the War of Independence. Tens of years of leftist brainwashing have deleted the concept called "victory" from the Israeli lexicon. Concepts like "the Land of Israel" or "the Jewish Nation" are virtually unthinkable.

The real threat to Israel is not from the military might of Iran or the Arab states. The real threat is that they will not need to use it. They have already discovered Israel's weak spot and they can watch it crumble away without a battle.

Israel must change direction and elect leadership with a Jewish orientation - leadership that draws on its internal resources for its sense of self worth and is not dependent on the approval of other nations. If we don't do that soon, we will all turn out to be, in the best case scenario, Gilad Shalit.
